Even though they aren't gospel singers, these R&B singers, Soul Singers, and Rappers have shown how much they love gospel and God. They have reached back into their gospel roots by singing covers of legendary gospel songs or portraying a part in a movie or even honoring God for their gift and talent. Here are a few.

1) Fantasia-Fantasia is one of the biggest R&B singer to let people know they she is christian. She always going back to her roots. I am secretly hoping she comes to the gospel side. She has honored gospel singers and she even post herself singing gospel songs. She has a gospel song "I Made It" (which is great) ft. Tye Tribbett. She has been on Bobby Jones Gospel singing "He's Done Enough" by Gospel legend Beverley Crawford. She along with Lil' Mo, Faith Evans, and Coko from SWV sung a tribute to The Clark Sisters by singing their song "Endow Me". She also sung on Erica Campbell's remix of her hit song "Little More Jesus". Lastly she has said how she is a big fan of young gospel group The Walls Group and even went to sing with them. She is a big supporter of her religion and gospel.

2) Lil' Mo-Lil' Mo is an R&B singer who also has shown her appreciation for gospel music and gospel singers. Lil' Mo along with Fantasia, Faith Evans, and Coko from SWV sung a tribute to The Clark Sisters. Mo, starred in the gospel movie "Who Can I Run Too?" starring gospel stars Tasha Page-Lockhart, Marvin Sapp, and Jessica Reedy and actor Kel Mitchell. She played a choir director who had came back to God and is trying to help her friend find her way back to God. She contributes to the movie with the song "Give It Up" which is about giving up your sins and come to God because Jesus is soon to return. Mo's parents are a Bishop and a First Lady, so she is a PK (preacher's kid).

3) Faith Evans- Faith Evans..what can I say. This lady also needs to be singing gospel. She started out like most singers, singing in the church. She was two years old when she was singing in church. Faith Evans along with Fantasia, Lil'Mo, and Coko of SWV honored The Clark Sisters. Faith also has been on songs by Karen Clark-Sheard (my favorite singer of all time) who she has claim is her musical influence. She was on her songs "The Who Doesn't Matter" and "Nothing Without You". She also strred in the gospel movie "The Fighting Temptations" also starring R&B singer Beyonce and actor Cuba Gooding Jr.

4) Monica-M-O-N-I-C-A, Ms. Monica Brown made sure her church background wasn't so gone. Monica started singing at church. She was apart of a traveling youth choir. She has respect for gospel singers and it's music. She was on Jame Fortune Song "Hold On" along with Fred Hammond. She was in the gospel movie "Pastor Brown".

5) Beyonce-Htown (Houston) star is a gospel fan. Beyonce was in the church choir. The name Destiny's Child came from the Book of Isaiah (a book in the Bible). Beyonce has cited Karen Clark-Sheard as an influence. She also sung on the gospel son "Say Yes" by former Destiny Child star turned gospel singer Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. They even sung "Say Yes" live at the Stellar Awards (a gospel award show). Beyonce along with Destiny Child did a Praise Medley and Beyonce even sung the song "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" at the 2015 Grammy's. Beyonce also starred in the gospel movie "The Fighting Temptations" also starring actor Cuba Gooding Jr. and Faith Evans. She contributed to plenty of the songs on the soundtrack.

6) Chance the Rapper- The rapper who acknowledges God. Chance always gives honor to God no matter where he is at. He says he is a Christian. Gospel music has had a huge influence on him. His favorite gospel artist and composer is Kirk Franklin. Chance reference Jesus a lot in his songs. He has a deep faith in God. On his mixtape "Coloring Book" he has a song "Blessings" written by gospel singers Byron Cage and Fred Hammond. His other song "Finish line/down" features Kirk Franklin. He even performed with Kirk Franklin and gospel singer Tamela Mann at the 2017 Grammy's.

7) Kendrick Lamar- Kendrick is very verbally about his religion. He has openly stated that his mother was a prayer warrior. Kendrick has credited God for his talented and for everything. One Halloween he dressed as Jesus Christ, saying he wanted to be his idol. Both him Chance need to become gospel rappers. That would be a bomb (great) record.
