The Greatest Music Group Of All Time... The Clark Sisters

There have been plenty of music groups in the world...The Temptations, New Edition, The Jackson 5, TLC, Destiny's Child, Mary Mary, etc. but no one and i mean no one compares to The Clark Sisters. Not only are they great singers, they are great singers who sing gospel and always keep Jesus the center of everything. They are my heroes. The group consist of four sisters (originally five before Denise departed from the group), the sisters are song-writer/leader, Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark, the eldest sister with the "sweet voice", Jacqueline "Jacky" Clark-Chisholm, Jazzy-sister Dorinda Clark-Cole and last but never least baby sister with the big voice Karen Clark-Sheard. These amazing four women have contributed to music in a great way, with great songs like "Is My Living in Vain?", "Endow Me", "Livin'", "Miracle", "My Redeemer Liveth" "Halleluajah" and my personal favorite "Blessed & Highly Favored", etc. I look up to them with all my heart. Thank you Clark Sisters.

Meet the sisters:

Jaqueline Clark-Chisholm aka Jacky the Sweet Voice

Jacky is 68 years old. She is the eldest daughter, having an older brother making her the second born child. She happily married to Glynn Chisholm. They are the mother of three, Angel, Michael, and Aaron. She is a grandmother. She attends Greater Emmanuel Institution COGIC in Detroit, Michigan where the pastor is her brother-in-law Bishop J. Drew Sheard Sr.

Elbernita Clark-Terrell aka Twinkie the Leader

Twinkie is 62 yeas old. She has a son named John. She is a talented musician, known for being on the organ/keyboard/piano. She is the song-writer of the group. She is also the leader. She is very talented, in my eyes and what I see in interviews she is what I call the mini-mama because she patterns herself after her mother the late and great Dr. Mattie Moss Clark.

Dorinda Clark-Cole aka The Jazzy sister

Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole is 59 years old. She is the second to last child. She is married to Elder Gregory Cole. They have two children Nikkia and Gregory Jr (Jay). She also have grandchildren. She is known for jazzy, sweet, raspy voice. She is an Evangelist for the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) inc. She attends Greater Emmanuel Institution COGIC where the pastor is her brother-in-law Bishop J. Drew Sheard Sr.

Karen Clark-Sheard aka The Big Voice

My personal favorite out of all the sisters is First Lady Karen-Clark Sheard. She is 56 years old. She is the baby girl and the youngest child. She is the suprano with the big voice. She is married to Bishop J. Drew Sheard pastor of Greater Emmanuel Institution COGIC. She is the mother of their two children Kierra "Kiki" Sheard (who is also an award-winning gospel singer, see my YWFG post) and John Drew Sheard II. She is a grandmother of two Jacob and Kali Drew Sheard. Just like Twinkie and Dorinda she can play the organ, she can also play the drums (which probably explains why her son is a multi-talented musician). She is the quiet sister but when she is on stage she gets holy boldness.
